Service Opportunities

I am writing to see if you know of any confirmation students who need any amount of service hours. I have a great need for the following for the St. Anthony Fish Frys:

Bussing dishes: 5:15 – 7:30 p.m. shift. Need two volunteers to work as a pair for the Fridays of 2/28, 3/6, and 3/27. Wouldn’t need the same pair for all these listed dates, could be different each week.

Dishwashing Room: Need 1 volunteer for the 5:15-7:30 p.m. shift for 3/13 and 4/3. The volunteer would be trained to work the equipment by one of our volunteers experienced in this area.

If anyone is interested, please have them get in touch with me. Thank you.

Help set up, serve and clean up for the Community Meal held on Wednesday night at St. Peter’s before faith formation classes.  Volunteers are needed as early as 4pm and until about 7pm.  Contact Lisa to volunteer at 320-281-9541 or just show up in the kitchen on any night faith formation classes are scheduled!

St. Peter’s Family Breakfasts are a parish fundraiser and an opportunity to get to know your fellow Catholics both from our parish and other churches from around this area.  Our volunteers work two shifts for food prep and service.  Shift one is from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and shift two is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon with a third shift from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that is the clean-up crew.  Volunteers get to work on their people skills and can learn to make the food we serve while they accumulate service hours for Confirmation or school.

Our breakfast dates are October 13, November 10, December 8, January 12, February 9, March 8 with a tentative one on May 3.  Contact Conrad Meier at (320) 260-6945 by phone or text message.

Hello Confirmation Students:     I received a letter from the VA Center in St. Cloud saying that they could use some volunteer youth in their facility. Please see the note below:                                                       “Here at the VA we have many men in wheelchairs that need help getting around to various activities in the course of the day. Those who want to attend mass during the week need the special help of volunteers who bring them and take them back to their units. During the summer we are blessed when young students make the effort to show up on a regular basis and perform these tasks. Since many of the residents are elderly and have grandchildren whom they may seldom get to see, it is a special treat to have these teenagers at the facility. If you can find a way to encourage other young persons to take on this ministry, we would be very grateful.”                                                                                                    As I have been telling you, you are quite able and prepared to do ministry just by being who you are in the presence of those who are lonely or disabled. The contact person listed is: Dennis Erie. Call the VA facility at 252-1670 and ask to be directed to him. Make a difference in the world around you….you are an important member of the Body of Christ who is working to build the Kingdom of God right here on earth!
